- The best way to circulate the resources in solar panels is reuse, not recycling.
- Old and defective solar panels can be repaired and retrofitted on-site at low costs to have similar appearance and performance to new products. By applying output recovery technology and by short-circuiting only the damaged solar panels, high power recovery performance can be expected.
- While the development of solar panel recycling technologies and building of recycling centers are underway, there are technology developments for the reuse of panels or no legal grounds for the certification or sales of reused panels.
- New markets must be created, such as output recovery and a resale market for reused panels or the additional solar power plant repowering market.
- Reusing panels is necessary as the number of reused waste solar panels (eco-modules) are expected to grow exponentially in the future.
