Rural Solar Power

In the past, farmers had limited involvement in most solar power generation projects, having only leased land to outsiders, resulting in limited income increases. It has not been easy for farmers with limited access to information and financing to take part in solar power projects. With the introduction of the Rural Solar Power Generation Project, farmers can now easily participate in projects with policy financing and purchasing benefits. This will help to increase the income of the farming community and the spread of solar power.

Construction procedures
Structure installation
  • Confirm basic coordinates : measure current GPS coordinates and confirm the basic coordinates
  • Marking of the basic coordinates : place markings on the basic coordinate points
  • Trial drilling : test drill the site for checking the ground conditions
  • Basic drilling : drilling for column installation
  • Install columns : install column structures
  • Pour mortar : pour cement mortar around the perimeter of the installed columns
  • nstall crossbeam : install horizontal steel structures
  • Install C-type steel : install C-type steel structures
  • Module delivery : deliver and transport manufacturer’s module within the construction site
  • Install modules : install modules and fix them with fastening bolts
  • Tighten bolts : tighten fastening bolts for structure fixation
  • Grounding of structures : bonding of the structures
Electrical facility installation
  • Excavate pipeline trench : excavate conduit trench for burial of wires
  • Conduit piping : bury conduits for laying power cables
  • Construct switchboard foundation : lay the wire piping, assemble molds, and pour concrete to build the switchboard foundation
  • Lay cables : install cables within the conduit
  • Connect to modules : connect module to module and module to low voltage cables
  • Install inverters : install inverters (DC →AC converters)
  • Install switchboards : install low voltage (380V) → extra-high voltage (22.9kV) transformers and switchboards
  • Connect to the KEPCO system : connect the extra-high voltage (22.9kV) KEPCO switchgear with the customer-side high-voltage cable system
  • Precision safety inspection : conduct electrical safety work, test high-voltage equipment, and test protective relay connections
  • Pre-operation inspections : conduct electrical safety work and inspect photovoltaic facilities in line with electrical facility technical standards. Load connection tests with KEPCO power lines
  • Meter sealing : install and seal meters for switching and power generation (start of commercial operation)
